That's not fair!

iPhone related feed items Apple has released its iPhone yesterday. In the US. Not in Europe. The whole net is buzzing about this new gadget. Half of my feed reader items are iPhone related. But I'm an outsider.

What is this about globalization, when I can not even have the same gadgets everywhere? I might not even like the iPhone, but how can I tell without a chance holding it my hands?

That. Is. Not. Fair.

I'm not even remotely interested in that iPhone thing. It's like everything else from Apple: standard features and technology way too expensive with an extravagant look to appeal to the (stupid) masses who then run into the shops to buy it because "It's from Apple and therefore better than anything else".

/me sadly shakes her head

You're probably right about that. But I wish I could come to that conclusion by having the thing in my hands being able to actually try it... I hate to be left out ;-)

If it were released in Europe it wouldn't be fair either. There are more places in the world other than US and Europe. By the way, I still don't understand the fever around the iPhone. Even if it were the most amazing gadget in the world, you can buy it the next week.

My rant included all places where a new gadget is only available later or even never. Eg. most really cool Japanese gadgets never even reach the US or European market (or South-America, Australia, Afrika).

BTW. the iPhone will be available in November here in Germany, not quite next week, but I get your point.

As I said before I doubt I will buy one when it is available. The lack of APIs and 3rd party apps makes it pretty uninteresting to me.
