This article is part of a monthly series.
Every month I present a DokuWiki powered site which is special for its design, content or clever use of the software. To give you a first impression on what the site is about I'll send a short, interview style questionnaire to its creator.
This month's wiki is not a single project's wiki but coordinates the efforts of many different projects around a single topic: Open Source tools around Adobe's Flash format.
Questions were answered by the OSFlash webmaster Aral Balkan. He is currently very busy preparing a conference, so he skipped some of my questions. I'll try to fill in the blanks as good as I can (marked in italics).
It's an online community for open source developers working with Flash, Flex and ActionScript.
The internet archive tells me the site is online since 2003, DokuWiki seems to be used since May 2005.
It's code support is really great.
Seems like the site was running on the e107 CMS before.
We're using a custom theme and the blogging plugin.
Any member can edit the site. Anonymous edits are not allowed (due to spam).
Registering is open to everyone.
We get over 140,000 unique visitors every month and push out about 1877096 pages, resulting in 40GB of traffic on the wiki.
It let's us share ideas and knowledge and has led to collaborations that have resulted in some of the most useful and important open source projects on the Flash platform.
If you know of a DokuWiki driven site which is somehow remarkable and should be featured as DokuWiki of the Month, drop me a mail or leave a comment, please.
