New York City Impressions

We're back from New York City and I know a few people are waiting to see the photos. Below is a small choice from the nearly 900 pictures we took. Digital photography is just great – that would have been 25 film rolls in earlier times!

I loved the city and I could possibly write a lot, but I prefer to let the images speak for them self. So here they are:

Brooklyn Bridge Panorama

Upper Manhattan Panorama

Lower Manhattan Panorama

Kaddi will probably write some more so check her blog if you speak German.

simply amazing!  I love NYC - and I'm just like you - show up and shoot several hundred photos.  I can remember going and shooting 20 rolls of film, then developing it and making prints.  But digital cameras sure has made that a LOT easier.

These pictures are great!  Keep them coming.

Nice pictures indeed - though it reminds me of not being on a real vacation since 2 years:S.

And judging by the black band around the neck of the bird and a little help of Google (http://www.birdsofcentralpark.com) I guess it's a Blue Jay: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Jay

Michael, cool find. From Wikipedia: "It is adaptable, aggressive and omnivorous." - wow, now I feel lucky to not have been eaten alive by this fierce creature :-D.

Very nice. It's been about 10 years since I've been to New York.

Those are some excellent shots!

Have you ever tried some of your geocaching while travelling?

And yep that looks like a Blue Jay.  There's a nest of Jays in the trees outside my apartment and I see some on my balcony from time to time.

Colin, I can't believe I forgot to mention this. Yes, we go geocaching on all our journeys. It's a great way to see places you wouldn't come across normally. The "East River at Dusk"  photo for example wouldn't exist if it weren't for a nearby cache. Overall we found about 20 caches in NYC.

BTW. Kaddi uploaded a few more pictures of our trip to her 23 account: http://23hq.com/kaddi
