Link's Crossbow Training

The Wii Zapper Time for some Wii content again. Kaddi's familiy is visting over the Easter holidays and her brother brought his newest Wii gadget and game with him. The game is called Link's Crossbow Training and comes with the Wii Zapper.

The Zapper is a gun shaped plastic tool to hold a Wii Remote and the Nun Chuk. There are no electronics build in. All the magic comes from the tools you already own. I wasn't sure how this would really benefit the accuracy on shooting with the Wii Remote. But holding the “gun” with both hands indeed stabilizes your aim significantly.

The game, Nintendo puts into the package, wouldn't be worth to buy on it's own, even though it is fun. Link's Crossbow Training is just a clever reuse of the game graphics and sounds from the wonderful Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. You have to fight through 8 stages with 3 levels each. In some levels you just have to hit practice targets in others you have real monsters as opponents.

The game is fun but not very long. It took me about an hour or two to play through all levels. But for 20 bucks you get some quick fun and a gadget which might come in handy for other games as well.
